7 Ways to incorporate Turmeric in to your life

Here at Turmerical, we are obsessed with finding interesting and creative new ways to incorporate turmeric into our daily routines. Through our trial and error we’ve discovered some pretty straight forward, yet tasty options, but also some surprisingly creative, AND effective (beauty) options as well. Here’s the download on seven easy and fantastic ways to add turmeric to your life.

1. Curry Powder!

Turmeric is a main ingredient in curry powder and this easy recipe is worth keeping on hand to toss into your next veggie sautee or rice dish, or use as a dry rub on chicken.



  • 2 Tbsp ground coriander
  • 2 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp ground turmeric
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper


Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container in the pantry for up to 2 months.


2. Turmeric Tea 


This oh-so-soothing tea is one of our favorites at Turmerical headquarters. A perfect sip to heal what ails you on cold winter evenings or after a heavy summer BBQ meal help aid digestion and inflammation.


3. Turmeric Teeth Whitener 

We know. You must be thinking, “Are you crazy? Brush my teeth with turmeric? Won’t that make my teeth YELLOW?!?”  Trust us, we had the exact same though when we first discovered this unusual beauty hack. But to our happy surprise, this is not the case. Yes, your teeth will be yellow during the process, but surprisingly whiter afterwards!  Check out the full how to HERE.


4. Smoothie Addition

This is an easy one, especially if you already enjoy a healthy green smoothie every morning.  Just add a pinch or two of ground turmeric, or one to two inches of fresh turmeric root and blend away.  (Pro Tip: Goes well with smoothies containing greens, cucumber and a bit of citrus such as orange.)


5. Golden Turmeric Latte

Even Starbucks is getting in the turmeric game having recently added a turmeric latte to their menu.  Talk about taking your afternoon coffee habit to the next, insanely healthy, level!  Our favorite recipes include creamy coconut milk and touches of cinnamon and ginger. Be sure to include a pinch of black pepper to aid in Curcumin* absorption. *Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric.


6. Make You Own Homemade Mustard! 

Probably the easiest turmeric hack, and a great way to wow your guests at your next picnic or lunch event.  Make this homemade mustard recipe ahead of time and keep it handy in the fridge.


7. Calm Skin Irritations


Studies have shown significant reduction in skin irritations with the use of turmeric. So far it appears both topical and ingested applications help to reduce signs and symptoms of skin irritations including acne, psoriasis, alopecia, and dermatitis. Suffering from acne?
